Melbourne Day 3

No more naughty tags or titles! I think my poor sister must have had a slight jolt of shock when she saw it, cos what she sees on her blog's blog list is this:

^^'' Hm... today was a typical Grouchy Hamster Day. Reasons? Everything and nothing. It's just one of those days when you feel like you can't see the sunny side of life, and everyone thought I was just not feeling confident enough about myself, when really, it's all because 1) it was too warm today and the room I was in at placement was hot and stuffy, 2) I couldn't use the centre's laptop to transfer files, 3) I can feel my assignment creeping up on me (oh crap, maybe I shouldn't be blogging), 4) I had breakfast! today, and I don't normally have breakfast! on wednesdays... 5) Couldn't find the damn stand for the wind chimes, which I needed for that placement session, 6) it was storming outside after the irritatingly warm and sunny morning, 7) lack of sleep, 8) that today's 13-10-10. Everything about today was just wrong.

If anyone bothered to read all that, go do some proper work and quit procrastinating on my blog like I am doing at the moment =)

Oh yea, Melbourne.

Day 3! Which is also conference day 2, which is also Sunday. Believe me, it didn't feel like Sunday at all. Saw a bit of the sun, and when it's sunny in Melbourne (doesn't happen often, but when it does!) it's super glaring. No idea why, maybe our eyes just got used to the gloom and darkness that blanket Melbourne most of the time and we became vampires overtime.

After the conference, P and I were dead tired with tons of information going in and out of our heads by that time, so we decided to head off early to Tim Burton's exhibition.

Yay, we were allowed concession even though we didn't have a Victorian concession card... NSW! =D

No photography allowed inside, unfortunately =D

Then it was random sightseeing around the area. Saw a lot of artistic buildings that look way nicer than the ones in Sydney. Why don't we get abstract-looking buildings and modern art pieces stewed around the place?

Even their train station's wall is properly decorated.

I think we saw those horse carriages every single day that we were there.

What building was this again? I forgot. It looks so flashy against the boring background of high rise buildings.

Flinders Street Station by day. The night photo was in Day 2's entry with the horse carriage.

Is this Vienna coffee? I forgot, but we were waiting for E, who stayed back at the conference, before heading off to dinner.

Ding Ding! =D Those things are evil man, pedestrians and cars gotta watch out for them, they're like trains on roads.

Yellow cabs- which don't exist in Sydney. Taxis are meant to be yellow like that, not white, or silver, or a police car lookalike.

That night, we navigated to a steamboat place because we were craving hotpot ever since stepping into Melbourne. The cold and wet weather was getting to us, so steamboat has to be the best dinner, and what could be better than a cheap steamboat buffet? Saw a poster plastered on the window of a shop at China Town which we walked by a few times, so we decided to head there for dinner. $23 per person!!

Cute bin, but I have no idea why it was on the table. It was actually quite a walk, and it was dark, but we had a gps (that was running low on battery) set on walking mode, so we got to the restaurant without many hiccups. Located on a quiet street, it was actually quite fun. There were three of us walking together of course.

Meat....

Randoms...

Special sauce, sesame sauce, garlic vinegar sauce. And more meat.

And it comes! We got the winter melon soup base and a ginseng chicken soup base.

That was a great dinner, cheap and nice (for a buffet!), and we stayed there for hours just chatting about how bleak our future as music therapists looked while ordering more meat, haha. Not that it mattered- the restaurant wasn't crowded at all and no one was chasing us out even though I personally felt we overstayed our visit.

End of day 3!
